Product description
The Karbonius BMW E46 Coupé CF Race Doors have been specifically developed for competition vehicles and high-performance projects where weight reduction is an absolute priority.
Manufactured entirely from pre-impregnated carbon fiber (prepreg) and cured in a mold and autoclave oven, these doors offer an excellent balance between weight, rigidity, and structural strength. Each unit is manufactured at our facilities in A Coruña (Spain) under ISO 9001 quality standards and by highly specialized personnel.
With an approximate weight of only 5 kg per door, they allow for a saving of around 25 kg per side compared to the original steel doors, which represents a reduction of close to 50 kg for the entire vehicle, making them one of the most effective modifications to improve the power-to-weight ratio and dynamic behavior of a race car.
The doors have been designed to allow the installation of numerous original BMW components, including hinges, locks, opening limiters, and interior and exterior handles. Additionally, they incorporate a reinforced carbon frame that allows polycarbonate windows to be fixed using adhesive or screws.
The exterior is supplied primed and ready for paint or with a 2×2 gloss finish, while the interior face features a technical matte or gloss finish.
As with all Karbonius parts, each set is individually numbered and includes its corresponding certificate of authenticity.
Important: These doors are competition components (“Race Parts”) developed with the primary objective of reducing weight. They are not intended as OEM replacements nor do they seek to exactly reproduce the adjustments, tolerances, finishes, or comfort levels of the original BMW doors.

These doors have been developed for competition use and require expertise in the assembly, adjustment, and preparation of sports vehicles.
- Installation difficulty: Medium / High
- Installation is recommended exclusively by specialized workshops.
- Adjustments, alignments, and adaptation work may be required during assembly.
- The final fit will depend on the bodywork condition, vehicle history, and specific configuration of each unit.
- It is recommended to carefully check clearances, closures, and alignments before final installation.
- Primarily designed for competition vehicles equipped with polycarbonate windows.
- For vehicles equipped with side airbags or other safety systems integrated into the original doors, compatibility must be evaluated beforehand.
Warnings
- Product intended exclusively for competition, track days, and off-public road use.
- An equivalent fit to an OEM part or the manufacturing tolerances of the original BMW doors is not guaranteed.
- Adaptation, adjustment, alignment, or modification work may be necessary during installation.
- Carbon doors are considerably lighter than original ones, so the operation and closing may differ from the behavior of an OEM door.
- They do not include locks, hinges, door checks, handles, glass, or any other original BMW hardware.
- Windows are not included. Karbonius offers competition Makrolon® windows with a slider system, available separately.
- Windows must be installed and adjusted by qualified personnel to ensure proper operation and sealing.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to verify compliance with applicable regulations for its use.
